Kevin Monserrat | Consilience Ventures

Kevin Monserrat is the Co-Founder of Consilience Ventures, which is transforming the way start-ups can finance and grow their businesses cheaper and quicker.

Before founding Consilience Ventures, he was Head of Microsoft’s Ecosystem of Scale Up in London, responsible for investing about US$100 million per annum and where he spent many years helping companies to launch, grow and fund their technology businesses.

While there he oversaw key Microsoft partners such as private equity and venture capital firms, family offices, accelerators and universities.

Kevin holds a Master’s Degree in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship from INSEEC Business School, France, with additional studies undertaken in the Master’s program at the University of New England, Australia. He has also studied Private Equity & Venture Capital with the Universita Commerciale Bocconi, Customer Analytics with Wharton University, Pennsylvania, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship with the University of Maryland.

He was the Sergeant at Arms of the London Business School’s Toastmasters Public Speaking Club, where he doubled the size of membership in less than two years and was an active member of the Junior Chamber International.

One of his more unusual early careers was as a fire-fighter in Aix en Provence, one of the biggest and busiest fire stations in France, with 17,000 interventions a year, where he was responsible for fighting forest fires, administering first aid and saving lives.

Kevin rides a motorbike, loves travelling, and is passionate about developing the future of money and entrepreneurship.  He is married and enjoys spending time with his two young brothers and his niece and nephew.

Rick Rasmussen

Rick Rasmussen is a Silicon Valley native with several lifetimes worth of experience and accomplishment.  Rick is a sought-after speaker in the fields of entrepreneurship, corporate innovation as well as ecosystem development and has keynoted dozens of conferences around the world. 

He currently serves as Industry Fellow and Director of Startup Programs for the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology at UC Berkeley.  Here he has developed a full set of graduate-level curricula covering the range of startup development from inception through exit.   This material has been extensively taught at many top 50 global entrepreneurial international universities including UC Berkeley, Columbia, NYU, IE Business School, NTU, Tsinghua, CKGSB, ETH, Northeastern and worked with many more. 

Rick advises accelerators and government-led economic development initiatives for a number of countries including Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Portugal, Mexico, and Ukraine.   Prior, Mr. Rasmussen served as the Trade Commissioner for the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade with responsibility for linking Canadian IT companies to Silicon  Valley.   He operates flawlessly among startups, the corporate world, government and education.  

Scott Newton | Thinking Dimensions

Scott had the pleasure to work with leading organizations around the world, as well as learners in graduate, undergraduate, and Executive education business programs in Strategy, Process, and Operations Management. His experiences have taken him to North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions.

When not at Strategy Tools, Scott is a Managing Partner at Thinking Dimensions. He works primarily with boards, CEOs, private equity, and senior leaders and company owners.

Scott focuses on Middle Market Consumer, Industrial, and Pharmaceutical companies with annual sales of €100 million to €2 billion to impact sustainable growth and profitability opportunities. With 25+ years of international experience in advisory activities balanced between both multinational and family-controlled enterprises, Scott has had the unique opportunity to assist over 155 CEO’s and Senior Business Leaders across North and South America, EMEA, and the Asia Pacific region.

The organizations Scott works with achieve speed, alignment, and most importantly EBITDA-based results by focusing on the necessary competencies to develop and a long-term view.

Christian Rangen | Strategy Tools

Christian Rangen is a serial entrepreneur, strategy expert, business school faculty, speaker, author – and most recently founder and CEO of Strategy Tools. Strategy Tools started as his PhD project, quickly turned into a private research initiative. Since 2011, Strategy Tools has been used with 1000’s of companies around the world.

Over the past 18 years, he has advised companies and governments globally on strategy, innovation, transformation and developing ecosystems. Over the past three years, he has worked extensively on Innovation Superclusters, working closely with the Malaysian and Norwegian Governments to support their national innovation programs. Chris has led multiple National Transformation Projects, including launching new accelerator programs, venture builders and early stage VC funds. He is an active angel investor in disruptive technology firms.

Chris is also business school faculty, teaching strategy, transformation and the clean energy revolution at BI – Norwegian Business School (Norway) and Zigurat (Spain). He is an active public speaker and presents frequently at international innovation and strategy conferences

He resides in Stavanger, Norway, but travels extensively for clients, speaking engagements and conferences.
